Back by popular demand, DJ Skee sits down to give viewers a full review of Apple’s latest offering with the new iPhone 5s. Sporting the Space Grey colored model, Skee gives viewers insight behind the phone’s latest additions in features and compares it to Samsung’s Galaxy S4. Watch as DJ Skee demonstrates the 5s’ new finger print scanner, improved front facing HD video camera and burst photo mode that gives owners the option of taking 12 shots in just seconds. The AXS TV host also details the smart phone’s updated processor which allows owners to take advantage of faster browsing and overall functionality. Still, Skee admits to viewers there isn’t any major significant leap from its predecessor 5 model. When comparing the 5s and S4, DJ Skee points out factors for consumers to consider like Samsung’s plastic rear exterior, larger screen and Apple’s superior camera quality and durable design.

Bone Thugs-n-Harmony took over episode nine of SKEE Live and delivered quite possibly the craziest performance of the season. DJ Skee wasted no time in sending things over to the legendary group as they hit the stage to open the show with “Thuggish Ruggish Bone” and “East 1999” at L.A. Live’s The Conga Room. As the smoke clouds in the crowd settled and cameras went live back in the AXS TV studio, the Cleveland natives sat down with Skee for an intimate one-on-one interview.
Topics of discussion included the origin of the group’s signature melodic style, landing a deal with West Coast Hip Hop Pioneer Eazy-E, Kendrick Lamar and so much more. DJ Skee also proposed the idea that perhaps Drake is the only artist who has the ability to drop bars with the same fast delivery and still harmonize.
Fresh off the success of performing alongside an Eazy-E hologram at Rock The Bells, Bone Thugs opened up on what it felt like to pay homage to their mentor and spoke on the significance of the late rapper’s music on Hip Hop. With Bone holding the title as the only group to collaborate with Jam Master Jay, Tupac, Biggie, Eazy-E and Big pun, the living legends look back and reflect on who they had the best chemistry with in-studio. Bone also explained how at the advice of Eazy-E the group decided to remain neutral by choosing not to engage any potential past beefs.
Ty Dolla $ign also made a brief appearance alongside Bone Thugs for a quick Q&A session with DJ Skee. The Taylor Gang signee served as a surprise guest and gave up details on how he managed to contribute to the group’s new “Everything 100” single. Before hitting the stage to close out SKEE Live with an exclusive tribute performance to Eazy-E, 2Pac and Biggie, Bone took the opportunity to answer a number of random questions from fans via Twitter.
This week’s “Spotlight” showcased the talents of Ivy Levan. The singer explained her unique style which she attributes to combining elements of Punk Rock and Pop for a sound all her own. The Arkansas native also gave viewers insight behind her humble beginnings and touched on what it was like for her to originally transition her career away from modeling.
“In The Lab” caught up with DJ and super producer Just Blaze while out in New York. Working with the likes of Mariah Carey, JAY Z, Rick Ross and Diddy, Just breaks down his early days on the turntables and explained how being a DJ served as the foundation for his eventual transformation to a full on producer. Just Blaze also spoke on how important it is for people to identify certain types of music with periods in their lives and how he takes that into consideration when creating in the studio.
Skeme took over this week’s “Off The Top” segment which found the rapper out an about on the streets as he performed to the camera for an exclusive song fans can only hear on SKEE Live. “Up Close” linked up with UFC fighter Phil David. The mixed martial artist shared his story or persistence and dedication as David found himself pursuing his passion following his graduation from Penn State University.
Viewers were also treated to a behind-the-scenes look for this week’s #SKEELOCKER as cameras headed to Diamond Bar, Calif. to meet with Bait sneakers CMO Eric Phan at the brand’s flagship store. Phan shared details behind the company’s recent collaboration with Asics shoes, the creative inspiration behind Bait’s designs and touched on the evolution of the sneaker game. Looking anxious and ready to talk, Dizaster decides to call out Math Hoffa after the rapper recently punched Serius Jones during their battle at Summer Madness 3. Considering the blow a sign of disrespect to the culture, Dizaster proceeded to lay into Hoffa and explains he now has a personal issue with him. Dizaster went on to give insight into Hoffa’s behind-the-scenes threats and alleged aggressive antics he utilizes to get inside the mind of his opponents before every battle. Before heading out, Dizaster makes it clear he wants to settle the score the Math Hoffa, says he’s not afraid of the rapper and tells DJ Skee he won’t come to Los Angeles to go lyrically one-on-one.

The 16-year-old singer, dancer and Watts native opens things up by recalling the first time she ever met Skee at a very young age through a mutual friend. DJ Skee admits to listeners he always knew Nicole had potential to be big and a successful artist. Mali also gives insight behind how she became connected with Stampede Management as solo artist following the disbandment of her former group after coming up short on the television show X Factor. Nicole also breaks down her humble beginnings and explains she’s simply working hard to purse her dreams. Fans of Mali Nicole can look forward to the singer’s upcoming Confessions of A Teenager EP which is slated to release later this year and features her new debut single “Sunday Afternoon.”

SKEE Live episode seven went down as one of the best episodes yet. Viewers were treated to a performance and interview from G.O.O.D. Music’s Pusha T and Juicy J from Taylor Gang. Both artists turned the energy up by performing their hit singles with Pusha kicking things off with “Blocka” and Juicy following things up with “Bounce It.”
Super producer, Che Pope, took over this week’s “In The Lab” segment. Having executively produced for the likes of Kanye West, 50 cent and JAY Z, Pope shares his story and stresses he wants to leave his mark in history with music that’s everlasting.
Back in the studio with DJ Skee, Pusha T opened up on his upcoming My Name Is My Name LP, meeting Kanye West and signing with G.O.O.D. Music, his brother Malice, his relationship with Pharrell and confidently proclaimed he has the album of the year. Later in the show, Juicy J joined Pusha T on DJ Skee’s couch and touched on his relationship with Miley Cyrus, producer Dr. Luke, obtaining an unreleased Pimp C verse for his Stay Trippy LP and having production credits on a new Pimp C album set to release soon. Both artists took the opportunity to tackle topics with DJ Skee on fashion, collaborating with singer Justin Timberlake and much more.
“Spotlight” showcased reality TV star and new YMCMB signee Chanel West Coast. Chanel speaks on how she felt after meeting Lil Wayne and explains there’s a misconception of her image in the public due to her role on MTV’s Fantasy Factory.
NFL star Adrian Peterson spoke on his humble beginnings, taking his football skills to the pros and the work ethic it took to overcome a potential career ending injury. The Minnesota Vikings running back also gets personal with cameras and shares what it took for him and his family to overcome the loss of his brother at an early age.
Viewers were also treated to an exclusive song and music video from rising rap star Logic. The young and rising talent stepped up to demonstrate his lyrical skills for viewers on this week’s “Off The Top” segment.
Though DJ Skee was unable to deliver his weekly episode closing editorial, the host instead sent things back over to Pusha T who did the honors of ending the show with a performance of his hit single “Numbers On The Boards.” Be sure to tune into SKEE Live every Tuesday from 7 p.m. (PST) and 10 p.m. (EST) only on AXS TV.
