Freddie Gibbs and Madlib give the greenlight to BBC Radio’s Benji B to premiere a new collaborative song titled, “Robes,” featuring Earl Sweatshirt and Domo Genesis.  The smooth sampled based production works perfect in Gibbs’ favor as he laces the instrumental with his signature montone flow about the troubles of the streets.  “Robes” will be featured on Gibbs and Madlib’s collaborative project, Pinata, which is finally set to drop on March 18.

7 Days of Funk (Snoop Dogg & Dam-Funk) recently sat down with BBC Radio 1 for an exclusive interview.  As the release date for the duo’s upcoming collaborative self-titled album approaches, the Doggfather and Dam get into details on the project’s distinctive funk inspired sound, the creative direction of the album and the meaning behind the title.  As the conversation continued, the Long Beach native opened up about how pleased he is with his new business relationship with Stones Throw Records.

Part four concludes Zane Lowe’s exclusive interview with rapper Eminem.  The Detroit native opens up about singing on tracks, the economic hardships the city of Detroit continues to endure and much more.  Mathers explains how he enjoys embodying the underdog mentality of his city and that his music will always reflect his hometown’s fighting spirit.  In fact, Marshall reveals to Lowe that he still regularly takes rides through old city neighborhoods to clear his mind and reflect on how far he’s come as an artist. Touring and live performances also served as the topic of discussion.  Eminem gives viewers insight into how he began performing small shows to get back into the swing of things after releasing Relapse.

Here is part three to Zane Lowe’s exclusive interview with BBC’s Zane Lowe.  Check out Eminem as he clarifies he didn’t want to make Recovery 2 and really wanted to deliver a project that sounded different than his last.  The rapper spoke on how his  collaborative EP, Bad Meets Evil, with Royce Da 5’9″ came together and how the freedom of the project would eventually inspire his creative direction on TMMLP2.  Slim Shady also gets into details on his Kendrick Lamar assisted song, “Love Game” and points out he wanted to give fans something they wouldn’t expect.  Part three concludes with Zane and Em discussing how “Headlights” came together.

BBC and Zane Lowe release part two to their exclusive interview with Marshall Mathers.  The rap superstar opens up on his style of production and shares his thoughts on getting back behind the boards for The Marshal Mathers LP 2.  Lowe points out Eminem’s upbeat production on the new album while the Detroit native reassures viewers his passion for Hip Hop is far from gone.  Marshall speaks on his love for rhyming, making music and points out the best thing he enjoys is having an outlet to continuously express himself with.  As the conversation between the two continued, Eminem weighed in on how he deals with fame and explains that he never had any intentions in becoming a Pop star.  The rapper also addressed his debut single, “My Name Is,” and reflected on his struggle in the past with drugs.

In part one of Zane Lowe’s exclusive interview with Eminem, the two discuss the evolution of hip hop shows with the incorporation of more live bands, what it’s like for Eminem to perform “Rap God” live and revisiting familiar topics from The Marshall Mathers LP.  However, the legendary emcee reassures fans The Marshall Mathers LP 2 does reflect his life nowadays and gets into details about the new project’s creative direction.  The two also discuss the album’s intro, “Bad Guy,” and the Rick Rubin produced “Rhyme Or Reason.”  In fact, Eminem speaks on meeting Rick Rubin for the first time and being nervous to work with him.

Madlib stopped by BBC Radio 1 to talk with Benji B about a number of topics which included MF Doom, his alter ego Quasimoto, getting sued so many times for sampling and much more.  Take a listen as Madlib tells a funny story about a fight he found himself in with Quasimoto after he found out the rapper stole his girlfriend.  With all the jokes aside, Madlib opened up about his experience with crate with J Dilla and admitted to listeners that he’s been sued more times than he can remember for sampling.  Before calling it a wrap, Madlib reassured fans there’s a Madvillian follow-up in the works, however, the producer admits that it’s all on MF Doom when he wants to come in and work on the project.
