AUDIO: De La Soul – Get Away ft. The Spirit of The Wu

Stumbling upon the original sample from Wu-Tang Clan’s intro on Disc two of Wu-Tang Forever, De La Soul comes through and drops their new song “Get Away”.  Out of respect for the Wu the trip also included “the spirit of the wu” as a feature.  The groups last project The Grind Date was released back in 2004.  You’re Welcome is anticipated to release this upcoming fall.  I’m definintely feeling this record and can’t wait to see what else they come out with as the release date approaches closer and closer.  Expect visuals for “Get Away” soon as well.

Live in ConcertToday Wiz Khalifa and Curren$y took to youtube to give a live and official announcement in New York on the release of their collaborative project Live In Concert.  The good news is that the duo will release their long awaited project this Saturday in celebration of 4/20.  The official artwork was also revealed which can be seen in the above photo.

Constant touring can cause artists to seek out refuge in the recording booth along the way. Here, Life + Times catches up with Curren$y after a show in Chicago, as he and fellow Jet Life Recordings emcee Young Roddy spend two days recording “3 Piece Set,” an EP for “Closed Sessions” at Soundscape Studios. Featuring an original score by Thelonious Martin.
