Big K.R.I.T.’s Rich Dad Poor Dad (off his Live From the Underground album) is a deeply personal record. In the song, K.R.I.T. shares some of the many jewels his father dropped on him as a kid and how that shaped him as a man. For the video to the song, K.R.I.T. went even deeper. He took us on an inside journey to some of the most significant places in his hometown of Meridian, MS. We caught up with K.R.I.T. and he gave us a candid and detailed account of both the meaning of the song and the significance of each of the images featured in the video. This is REWIND: Rich Dad Poor Dad.

Exclusive in-depth interview with Chevy Woods backstage at Paid Dues. The Taylor Gang member talks about touring solo and how he has taken what he learned from touring with Wiz Khalifa and applied it to his own tour. Chevy says to expect edgy production on his new Gangland 2 mixtape hosted by DJ Drama that is about to drop. It features the Taylor Gang members as well as non Taylor features like Project Pat, Chip tha Ripper aka King Chip and others. Chevy also talks about the TGOD compilation album saying that they have a lot of songs to pick from and are shopping it around looking for the right situation. Before we let him go Chevy shares his thoughts on performing at Paid Dues and explains how he thinks touring and twitter are the keys to a new artists career.

demoOver the weekend it looks like Kanye West’s 2001 demo was leaked online and features some tracks you may have previously heard like “Out of Your Mind”, “WOW”, and “Jesus Walks (original)” on previous mixtape series such as Freshman Adjustment.  However, I must admit these are probably in the best quality that I’ve heard or own Kanye’s earlier music in and for that it’s worth a download and there’s a few unheard material.  The project was liberated off KanyeToThe  forum and can be downloaded HERE.  Take a look at the 15 song track list below.  If you like that vintage Kanye/Roc-A-Fella days this is definitely a must have.
