Always one to be an innovator, Jet Life mastermind Curren$y and Jet Life International announced today that there next release will be a collaborative effort with BitTorrent. The big news doesn’t really come too much as a surprise as Curren$y has always embraced and utilized the internet as a means to release past projects and connect directly with his fan base. According to AllHipHop.com, the new Jet Life partnership will consist of a “Jet Life BitTorrent Bundle” which will contain not only new mixtape music but “HD video content, interactive tour promotional materials, an interactive Jet Life Apparel catalog, and exclusive contest opportunities.” It was also recently announced that Jet Life artists Corner Boy P, Fiend and Young Roddy will be hitting the road once again for “The Red Eye Tour” which will take off on August 26. Legendary DJ Tony Touch visits Fuse for an interview and discusses his recent mixtape release Piece Maker 3: Return of The 50 MC’s. Tony gives insight into the history behind his classic Power Cypha: 50 MC’s mixtape and how he went about including 50 artists onto one project. Touch also reveals that his newest release is actually his 100th mixtape and that it also serves as the closer to his Piece Maker trilogy. With Eminem making an appearance on Piece Maker 3 with “Symphony In H”, Tony shares how he went about acquiring the feature from the elusive MC and also points out that he included short vocal samples throughout the mixtape from artists who’ve passed on like ODB, Big Pun and Guru to name a few. Before calling it a wrap, Tony Touch previews three songs off the project with “B.A.R.S” from The Lox, “World Premier” from Liknuts and “V.I.P.” from Too $hort featuring Kurupt and Xzibit.
While in Miami, MMG rapper Gunplay decided to pay a visit to Club Eve and performed two songs off his Acquitted mixtape. The “long hair don’t care” dreaded up artist took the stage and performed “Salute Me” and “Drop The Tint”. With me headed back to France, I felt inspired to kick a few bars over Picasso Baby.. The whole fly art talk that Jay was displaying on the track, bought me back to my visit to Le Louvre. And all the images that I would see in text books, and magazines.. I was now seeing in person.
