Plenty of eyebrows were raised recently at Trinidad James’ live show in New York. The Atlanta native decided to stop midway through his set to go on rant about the decline of New York hip hop and spoke highly of his forthcoming album which is currently in the works for 2014. James reflected on the city’s former dominance of the music industry with hometown acts like Dipset and didn’t bite his tongue when he blurted that the South runs New York hip hop. In fact, James came off very disrespectful as he explained to the audience that East Coast rappers might as well claim to be from Atlanta. In-between Trinidad’s offensive comments, the rapper also decided to briefly weigh in on Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” line about being “King of New York.”
