DJ Premier kicks his feet up with Mass Appeal and discusses the inspiration behind the group’s iconic logo and the creative direction that went into making their street hit “Mass Appeal.” According to Premo, the logo is the brainchild of Guru and Big Shug and was introduced to fans in 1990 on the artwork for Step In the Arena.
JAY Z’s Life+Time’s drops a new Made In America recap video that compiles a bunch of different fun moments that went down last weekend. For anyone who’s interested, the soundtrack to the visual is called “Time Is But A Moment” (Original Mix)” featuring Arama by Jesse Rose.
DJ Enuff and the That’s Enuff Crew got the opportunity to sit in on Meek Mill’s recent studio session for Dreamchasers 3 and were treated to an exclusive track. Titled “Kendrick You Next,” the unreleased freestyle showcases Meek lyrically going in over a number of instrumentals and setting his aim on Cassidy with a quick warning shot at Kendrick Lamar followed at the end.
Dom Kennedy finally delivers a new music video with “South Central Love” which will be featured on his upcoming Get Home Safely. Kennedy puts a little more thought behind his visual offering and approaches things from a more cinematic perspective. The video follows Dom and company throughout their day in Los Angeles while Kennedy purses his love interest. Get Home Safely drops on October 1.
Jet Life solo artist and Monsta Beatz producer Dee Low gives the visual treatment to his new single “100 Karats” featured on his upcoming mixtape which bears the same title. Currently out on the road with Cornerboy P, Young Roddy and Fiend for the Red Eye Tour, Dee Low decides to treat fans to a fun and lighthearted music video which finds the rapper surrounded by beautiful women and partying it up.
Danny Brown unveils the finalized artwork to his upcoming LP titled Old. Fans of the Detroit native can look forward to the bruiser’s latest offering when it hits shelves on September 30.

The Red Eye Tour recently made its Los Angeles stop a few days ago with Dee Low, Cornerboy P and Young Roddy hitting the stage at Los Globos. The Jet Life artists held down their respective sets and got the small venue going with plenty of fan favorites. Cam’ron and company unveil a new promotional trailer to an upcoming series titled 1st of The Month which is set to debut on October 1. Always one to keep it street and gritty, Cam gives fans a preview of what they can expect to see in the project with plenty of guns, people getting shot left and right, drugs and random sex scenes that showcase the rapper channeling his raunchy character from Paid In Full. All in all, this looks like some classic Cam’ron material and I’m sure this will quickly end up being another hood favorite. In related news, Cam’ron announced that his next mixtape Ghetto Heaven will also be available to pick up on October 1 after missing its original release date which was scheduled for July 4.
Curren$y and fellow Jet Life artist Young Roddy link back up for another collaborative project this time titled Bales which is set to hit the net this Friday. Today, the duo announced their new mixtape and reveal the artwork that will accompany it. In other news, still no sign of JLR member Trademark Da Skydiver who is also missing in action from the label’s current Red Eye Tour.
