Papoose continues on the road to a comeback and lets go of a new freestyle over Drake’s “Versace”. Clearly packed with subliminal’s aimed at the YMCMB artist, Pap drops some lyrics expressing his disgust for commercial rappers and even throws in some socio-political gems to try and enlighten listeners. Before stepping away from the mic, Pap reminds fans that Remy will be released in 2014 and reveals that he’s going to give her a baby when she comes home.
If you haven’t already heard, Papoose pulled a “Lil Mama” last night at HOT 97’s annual Summer Jam concert and was able to steal the stage for a one song performance of his new single “Get At Me” featuring Ron Browz. Following Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, and ScHoolboy Q’s performance the crowd was treated to a short set from New York MC Papoose who appeared to surprise everyone with his presence. After thoroughly investigating the matter, HOT 97’s Ebro discovered that Pap was able to pull off the stunt with the help of Kendrick Lamar and the TDE crew who purposely finished their set close to five minutes early in order to allow Pap the opportunity to perform. In the video clip below, watch as Papoose unexpectedly hits the stage and does his thing.
Ebro was also able to get the truth out from fellow radio host Peter Rosenberg the following morning who came clean that he secretly knew Papoose’s performance was going to go down but remained silent on that matter. According to Rosenberg and Ebro, the motive behind Kendrick’s assist was because years prior when K Dot was an upcoming artist Papoose looked out and took care of him. In other news, Papoose did reveal that female rapper Remy Ma will be home sometime next year. It’s going to be interesting to see what the two artists have previously recorded together or what will come from any future studio sessions. If you’re familiar with any of Papoose’s old stuff you know Alphabetical Slaughter Part 1 is really what set him off back in the days and really showcased a new New York rapper that was lyrically gifted and ready to hold the city down for a new era. For whatever reason, things never really panned out I’m sure the way he and mostly everybody thought they probably would for Pap but he’s on his with a comeback. The New York rapper releases the visuals for his follow up to Alphabetical Slaughter with part 2 but this time he’s beginning at Z and taking it back to the beginning. Check out the wordplay in the video above.
