Go behind the lens on the set of 2 Chainz new music video for “Guaranteed Fresh” off his new B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time LP. The Marc Klasfed visual attempts to set up shop in the 7th Ward and replicate the imagery and vibe that came out of New Orleans during the early days of Cash Money and the infamous Hot Boys. In fact, fans on site were treated to a rare occasion as Mannie Fresh, Lil Wayne, Turk and Juvenile all showed up to represent for their city and support the G.O.O.D. Music rapper.
New Orleans native Curren$y delivers a new project wit the Red Eye Mixtape. Never one to travel alone, Spitta brings along the Jet Life crew as the project features original songs from the likes of Corner Boy P, Fiend, Juvenile, Cardo, Young Roddy and Monster Beatz producer Deelow. Jet Life member Young Roddy drops a new music video for “504 Radio” off his Good Sense 2 mixtape. The raw black and white video showcases Roddy and 3d Na’Tee around familiar surroundings in New Orleans as each artist does their thing for the camera. Here, Life + Times catches up with Curren$y after a show in Chicago, as he and fellow Jet Life Recordings emcee Young Roddy spend two days recording “3 Piece Set,” an EP for “Closed Sessions” at Soundscape Studios. Ricky recently decided to go live on the air at Q93 FM in New Orleans and clear up the controversy sparked by his feature on Rocko’s track “U.O.E.N.O. (You ain’t even know it)”. Rawse’s lyrics were immediately targeted by activists and concerned listeners who felt the former corrections officer was coming off as highly insensitive and promoting date raping. To add insult to injury there is also currently a petition that is calling for Ross’ public apology regarding the matter. However, Ricky is sticking to his story that the situation is just a misunderstanding and that he doesn’t condone any acts of rape.
